It's been an absolutely crazy month. I couldn't even begin to say it all here. I do think this tune sums it up without saying much at all. I knew I wanted April to have a rain theme, but the title "When It Rains It Pours" is just to perfect. The feeling coming across as well as does can solely be contributed to Bluesman Jay's influence. He understood what I was going for and produced it for me. He brought it closer to my original intention then I ever could have.
The sounds of the storm are all completely organic. We used rain sticks, banged on heaters, got pieces of metal from a printing place all in pursuit of April showers. Jay's wife El can shake a mean rain stick. You may also detect a little bit of that Sammy flavor. He played both lead guitar and lead heater. All in all this was a fun one to make. Drinking beer and making music in the back of a barber shop. Norman Rockwell would have loved it.
And if it wasn't a perfect enough afternoon, before we where through it actually rained outside.
~This months song is dedicated to Howard Morin who passed away this morning. God Bless.
